GIZ/EPP Donates Vehicle to NAYCOM, promises more Partnership

The GIZ Employment Promotion Programme (EPP) on Tuesday 5th November donated a brand new Hilux vehicle to the National Youth Commission to support the commission’s work.

Speaking during the donation, Commissioner of the National Youth Commission, NgoloKatta said, he was delighted to receive the vehicle, whilst thanking GIZ for their continued support to the Commission over the years especially in Kono, Koinadugu and Kailahun for young people.

Mr. Katta explained the Commission’s new areas of interest— TVET, employment, capacity building of NAYCOM’s staff and positioning young people in the international level.

The Commission will develop its five year strategic plan that will inform partners for collaboration, he added.

He appealed to the GIZ to extend their programmes to other districts as he noted that “youth issues need systemic and strategic planning.”

Jacques P. Sam, Head of Private Development EPP, said they will work towards achieving the Commission’s objective and noted, that capacity building of NAYCOM’s staff will be given due attention.

Mr. Sam said, the strategic plan will give EPP a framework that will allow it to be focused in the three operational districts with a scale-up to be replicated in other districts.

Handing over the vehicle, he said “this will support your work and open more opportunities for collaboration.”

He introduced EstimaGrabenbauer as EPP three Development Advisor embedded in the Commission.
