In Sierra Leone we don’t respect Technical Vocational Education Training (TVET), but we know the worth of it in our different sectors, said, Grace Fullah, a member of the TVET Coalition.
A media image campaign, aimed at rebranding technical education to make it attractive to young people, who are mostly of the view that it is meant for school drop outs, will kick-off under the ABD Funded Sierra Leone Youth Entrepreneurship and Employment Programme.
Sierra Leone’s Minister of Youth Affairs, Mohamed Orman Bangura said “we have different sets of young people and they all deserve equal opportunities”, adding that fifteen car wash centers have been launched, a project that targets deprived set of youths.
Head of the National Youth Commission, NgoloKatta noted that the country has lost lots of opportunities because young people with skills do not have the required job.

The TVET Image Campaign is a component in the YEEP project set to benefit over 2000 young people in three key areas; skills development for employment, career guidance and job readiness and graduate entrepreneurship programme.
